WordTwiq 1.1 · Two words. One twist.
A little wordplay. A lot of care.
WordTwiq is a twin-word deduction game: find two five-letter words that differ in one position, using seven shared guesses.
- Music — Twin Step. Original code-assisted composition created for this game: 32 bars at 112 BPM, with mallets, warm chords, bass and light percussion. No third-party samples or existing songs were used.
- Sound effects. DevsDaddy Unity UI Audio Collection, Elijah Brown, MIT. Selected clips were trimmed, faded and gain-adjusted. Full licence.
- Typography. Gabarito and Fredoka, SIL Open Font License. Gabarito · Fredoka.
- Spelling dictionary. English Speller Database (ESDB, formerly SCOWL), Kevin Atkinson, 2000–2026. Five-letter entries extracted from the American and British size-80 spelling lists. Complete copyright and permissions.
- Word-frequency screening. wordfreq, Robyn Speer. Apache 2.0 code and CC BY-SA 4.0 data, including attributed SUBTLEX sources. The curated WordTwiq puzzle deck is shared under CC BY-SA 4.0. Data notices · Deck licence.

- Technology. Built in Unity 6.6. Web hosting and optional cloud saves by Cloudflare. Google identity verification uses the MIT-licensed jose library by Filip Skokan.
Play always works without an account. Progress and audio preferences are saved locally. Optional Google sync is implemented and awaits activation; when connected, it backs up scores and puzzle progress through Cloudflare. The game has no advertising or marketing trackers.
